MORNING PLAYTIMES

At 10.30am, children from in Yr1 and Y2 have a short ‘brain break’ and a quick burst of exercise for 15 minutes. Later in the morning, children in key stage 2 have a break from 10:45-11:00am or 11.00am - 11:15am.

Early Years have break times which are quite flexible.  They have ‘Pit stops’ during the morning to allow the children to have snacks and reflect on their learning. They also have gym trail activities outside each day which enables to children to develop their gross motor skills.

LUNCH

Children in Early Years have their lunch at 12pm and their lunch break ends at 1.00pm. Those in Y1 and Y2 have lunch from 12.00-1:00 and in Y3, Y4 , Y5 and Y6 their lunch is from 12.15 until 1:15pm.

AFTERNOON PLAYTIMES

If staff feel that it would benefit the learning of their pupils they may choose to take a break part way through the afternoon. We encourage flexibility with this in order to maximise the children’s learning.

DROP-OFF AND COLLECTION

At the beginning and end of the school day, parents are encouraged into the playground. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents. If normal arrangements have to be altered (e.g. you are delayed or another person is collecting your child), please let the office know. This enables us to inform your child and avoids any confusion or upset.

GETTING TO SCHOOL

To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option even if it’s just for the last part of your journey! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. Alternatively, we have bike-racks. If you do need to travel by car, please park wisely.
